Role: Construction Engineer (Cost Estimator / Quantity Surveyor)

Role Overview: Progeen is seeking a Construction Engineer to be part of the technical team, responsible for periodically tracking the costs of buildings, preparing cost estimates, conducting technical price analyses for specific items, and handling additional work. The engineer will play a technical and organizational role for ongoing construction projects. The position reports directly to the Technical Director or Administrator.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Calculates the cost of labor, materials, and equipment used based on the project and technical specifications;
• Analyzes and controls project expenses to ensure alignment with the budget;
• Prepares and updates cost estimates by referring to market prices and project requirements;
• Assists in negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to optimize cost and quality;
• Identifies and evaluates potential financial risks affecting project costs and suggests preventive measures;
• Conducts market price and labor cost analysis to optimize the project’s budget planning;
• Calculates technical-economic coefficients and provides assistance in preparing the monthly budget, cost reports, and cash flow for the works;
• Controls the preparation of monthly reports, measurement books, and technical price analyses of works based on the Company’s implementation methodology;
• Controls monthly reconciliation with the Finance Department for inventory, stock status, and material withdrawals;
• Works closely with the planning engineer, implementation engineer, and project manager to ensure cost efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Degree in Construction Engineering / Economics / Project Management or related fields;
• Previous experience in cost analysis for large projects, up to 5 years;
• Ability to adapt to technology and new demands dictated by the construction market;
• Ability to manage and work in a team;
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
• Good communication and negotiation skills;
• Knowledge of construction standards and regulations;
• Ability to suggest solutions and make decisions;
• Familiarity with basic computer programs, Microsoft Office (specifically Excel), AutoCAD, etc.
